Missing Library tv iOS 17.2

The new update is horrible. My list of purchase movies and tv shows did not show up with this new update/upgrade. Since the 15 December 2023, for 24 hours I’ve been trying over and over again. It just spins “Loading Your Library, This might take a few minutes”.

Afterwards, it just times out and tells “Couldn’t Load Library” “try again later”.

completely hosed me, my mother, my cousin. Going to a friend’s house to check on him.

‘I’ve been a tech a very long time a years of Apple use and purchase and they completely screw this up. Over 2500 movies.

Purchased content has moved to the Apple TV App. Look in that in Library You’ll need to swipe left to bring up the Side Panel Menu. Once in that you can swipe right to see tv shows, recent, etc

I have a similarly large library and have the same issue. what’s infuriating about this is that the library function has been in Apple TV app for a long time, and prior to this update, it was incredibly slow, but it did eventually load. Now Apple has taken a functional pair of apps and replaced it with something that does not work except maybe if you have a couple of hundred movies. As it seems that the more content you pay for the more you are penalized. It also speaks to the fact that no one really tested this very major change before it was put into production. The irony is that I have to go to my phone app version of Apple TV to see my library now so I can watch stuff on my TV with the search function. Really messed up guys…

Couldn't agree more and thanks for posting this. The whole thing is outrageous and ridiculous, especially when --- if Apple cared --- they could simply rollback these changes to the release when things actually worked... have some integrity and admit this was a decision not thought through with anything but a handful of content to test with (was it even tested?). But obviously customers who purchase thousands of dollars in content aren't the priority. And as I've said before, the irony is that the Apple TV app works (slowly) on the iPhone even with tons of content. Makes sense, right?

My issue is that not all movies transferred to the Apple TV app from iTunes movies during the 17.2 update (about a third of them have disappeared from my library). I have even reset the Apple TV to factory settings and started from scratch but the movies are still missing. They are all there on my iPhone and iPad. Apple tech support can’t seem to help me and keep suggesting what I have already done. Spent hours on this. Infuriating.

I’m also very angry at this new update to the Apple TV platform. I have purchased over 1500 movies and quite honestly I used to like to be able to see under the Movies tab how many movies I had purchased. Then under the genres it showed how many movies I had for each category. That has all vanished. Furthermore, every God darn movie that I click on there is literally no option for a synopsis and no option for a preview. If I have guests over who’ve never seen a movie I used to show them a preview of the movie to see if they would like to watch it that has now also vanished. The only option is to go into the movie and play it or play. It’s content no longer is a preview available And the list has been changed to not show how many movies I own and no breakdown in the genres I’m really angry about this.
