I access Apple TV through Roku on my TV
Navigation is a nightmare.
EG I wish to watch Slow Horses series 2
if I search for slow horses series 2, I get series 3 and from there I am completely unable to navigate to S2.
Any suggestions?

From a show’s Details page, you should find an episode list below the initial splash video or splash image. That episode list is horizontally scrollable in both directions (when available), for earlier episodes to the left, for all seasons available. You should also find a season selector on the left side directly above the episode preview images, to jump faster to episode 1 for any of the available seasons.

I have no influence over the design of the app, so the best I can do is try to tell how it is supposed to work, to the best of my knowledge. If you think the designers have gone a bit overboard trying to be “immersive” for this app, with distracting bells and whistles, and not enough visual structure, then you can leave constructive comments as feedback. If you click a tile in the Up Next row, then an episode starts playing immediately. To see the Details page for a movie or show first, click the show tile anywhere else but Up Next. The Details page would show a big image or preview video, with the details below that. Scroll down a bit to see more details. Clicking an episode image tile on the show’s Details page episodes row, would start that episode. Clicking an episode description on the show’s Details page episodes row, would open a separate Details page for that episode.
Genuine thank you for your attempt to help. I have no idea what splash screens are or how I got there but I did eventually find Slow Horses s2 😄
That’s the core issue though, overt navigation is completely absent.
I use Roku to access Netflix, 4 catch-up, itvx, iPlayer etc and absolutely no problem with navigation but go to AppleTV and there is a complete absence of on screen navigation icons.
i am perplexed, easy to use, graphical intuitive human interfaces were at the core of how Apple got off to such resounding success. How they can screw up a simple TV interface 50 years on is astonishing.
I searched Roku on this forum, it seems lots of others struggle too, at least I can get it to play video. Maybe I should count my blessings!
