Crickets chirping. So I’ll answer my own question with what worked for me. I used a Lightning to SD card adapter. I formatted a blank SD card in my camera and connected it to my iPad. I first wanted to export all the iPad photos I have collected over the years from screen snapshots and various emails. I opened the Photos app, selected the photos, clicked on the Move icon (lower left), scrolled down to Save to Files, selected the SD folder as the target and hit Save. It appeared that photos were being downloaded from the cloud rather than from iPad memory. Regardless they eventually ended up on the SD card so I could them save them on my PC. After downloading them there I deleted them from the SD card and loaded it with the jpeg photos I wanted to import on the iPad. Connecting the SD card to the iPad again using the same Lightning adapter the Photos app detected the adapter again but indicated that there were “No Photos to Import” (!?!). I happened to try the Files app (folder icon, lower left, next to Mail icon) which showed all the photos on the SD card (!?!). From there I was able to select the photos, clicked on Share (lower left), and selected Share N Images. This eventually made all of the selected photos available in the Photos app. Not sure whether they are in the iPad’s memory, in the cloud or both. I added several large photo collections sequentially with this technique. The iPad just shows them all in Recents but at least they are in the order they were downloaded. I assume that if you manually selected the photos to download (as opposed to Select All), that they show up in the order I selected them in. Maybe not. I used the iPad “Albums” has feature to create separate “shows” of the different photo collections. Hope this helps someone. OldGuy82
