Third party charger not working on iPhone 14 after iOS 17.2 update

After update to iOS 17.2 iPhone 14 can't charge on my Xiaomi wireless charger. When I place phone on charger it shows Charged (for exemple 54%) and does not start to charge. I have tried different positions, restarted the phone but nothing helps. Before the update to iOS 17.2 everything was fine.

I don’t know what the issue is, but I am experiencing the same issue with an older mophie brand wireless charger. It worked fine with my iPhone 14 Pro until the day updated to iOS 17.2. I think this new update fixed wireless charging issues for some and created new issues for others. When I place the phone on the charger it recognizes the phone and begins charging but errors out within a minute and the phone stops charging. This new iOS update broke something in the compatibility with my charger.

Also, I found your post with a Google search. Couldn’t find it with Apple’s search. I had to copy the URL from Google and paste it into Apple’s browser. So, you know it’s hard to investigate what you can’t find…

After upgrading to iOS 17, my iPhone 11 Pro experiences an issue with wireless charging when any notification is received.

The phone charges regularly until any notification arrives, such as a new message, etc. At that point, the phone starts blinking as if the charging is being toggled on and off every second.

This "phenomenon" stops when you pick up the phone, check the notification, and then place it back on the wireless charger. Everything proceeds normally until the next notification of any kind.

I updated my phone last night and still had issues. Funny thing is, two nights ago I turned off all battery optimizations and hard rebooted my phone twice. On the second reboot, I placed it on my charger (in the special position on its side) during boot. In the morning the phone was at 100% and the charger was not blinking!

I had a similar problem with the new Xiaomi wireless charger with a 20W power adapter. Works great on my iPhone 10 (ios 16) and Samsung device. But not for my iPhone 14 (tested on ios 17.3.1 and 17.4). It charges for one second and then disconnects, with the charger flashing green, indicating some error. Tried everything with no success. And then I randomly switched to a 5W power adapter (with the same wireless charger) and everything works fine!

I bought the wireless charger for charging iPhone12 and never succeed in using it i.e. it came without adaptor) , so I have power it using my 30W MacBook Adaptor, or electrical outlet extension equipped with USB-A sockets. The only thing that the wireless can charged so far is my AirPod Pro & iPhoneSE (2nd GEN).

But when I tried your advice with the old 5W power adaptor. It DID the job of charging the iPhone12 ! But I think it is too slow i.e. much slower than when I used it on iPhoneSE.

This forum post was made in December 2023 and it's nearing June 2024 and I'm still having this issue. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm moving all my cloud services to samsung/android and getting the new flip so I'm no longer in Apple's ecosystem. I'm not sure why Apple is limited access to third-party accessories with bugs in their updates that block usage like chargers
