Iphone 11 fast battery drop

So I bought and iPhone 11 recently as my main phone. It has the latest iOS (17.2) installed. It works perfectly fine, battery health (capacity) is 92. Battery decreases normally from 100-60%, but then it starts going down very fast to 20% in minutes. Any help?

I don't think the reading of 92% is all that accurate.

The iPhone 11 was discontinued about 15 months ago, and I doubt that the previous owner bought the phone about 15 months ago. So, the phone might really be anywhere between 18 months to 3 years old.

Even with light use, you would expect Battery Health to likely be in 90% range and probably down to 80% or lower after 3 years.

No guarantees, but if you have the time, you might try recalibrating the battery.

  1. Step 1 - Charge your iPhone to 100%.
  2. Step 2 - Use it and it drains the battery completely, down to 0% until the iPhone shuts down.
  3. Step 3 - Keep your iPhone out of battery for a few hours. ...
  4. Step 4 - Re-charge the iPhone to 100% all at once and when it reaches 100%, keep it there for another 30 minutes.

Otherwise, nothing really that you can do other than keep plugging the power adapter into the phone and letting it charge overnight....every night.

If you don't see any noticeable improvement in battery performance after a few months, I would go for new battery at the Apple Store or an authorized Apple service shop.

No. Especially if the previous owner got the battery replaced and then used it after awhile and then sold it. It could also just be even a faulty battery or yes. The fact that the phone is old. I had an iPhone 6s Plus which was 79%. My mum‘s iPhone 7, the poor phone, the **** thing was at 63% battery health. Had a **** it survived from March 2017, all the way to late July 2023, and even afterwards I am shocked
