Find My Device - not turned On

My Macbook Pro does not show up in the list of devices connect to my Apple ID. I have followed the instructions online and used the GUI but I am unable to turn on this option. I am running MacOS Sonoma ver. 14.1.2. Any help would be appreciated.

So I missed 14.2.1 on the first read.

I updated, signed out and back into iCloud and... everything is working!

Note: the update did not initially work on 14.2.1 until I signed out and back into iCloud.

Thank you Apple!

Sign out of AppleID/iCloud and sign back in again compare your results.

The current stable release of Sonoma including bug fixes,  security updates  is macOS 14.2.1

Same issue here, leroydouglas. Was hoping the 14.2 update was going to fix this but it didn't.

I go into: Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Show More Apps...

Find My Mac is off. If I click it, I am given the option to turn it on and then I have to click Allow. A window comes up telling me that Find My Mac and Find My Network are both on, with an option to turn each off, and I have a done button.

If I click Done, it returns me to the previous listing and.... Find My Mac is off.

Just for the record, this is a 2022 M2 Macbook Pro.
