do not worry. My point here is it was turned on in the stolen MacBook Pro as I remember having casually checked it many times if the location shown was correct. But the problem with the 2019 model is that it if stolen it can be immediately formatted. In the current models a thief can not exit any device from the Apple ID without the password so post 2019 models are more secure. So do you get the issue, thief steals 2019 MacBook Pro, formats it. Owner looks up his Apple ID details and finds the device which was entered before the incident, however in real time he finds his device not showing in find my iPhone/device app. There is no other way this could happen. Fortunately for all you guys who own a model post 2019 are safe because now unwarranted persons can not exit or format any Apple device without Apple ID password. Though very unfortunate for me. Only saving grace is he has no access to my stolen data as it was formatted.

Thankyou the littles for ur reply but I have found out the reason on speaking to an Apple certified technician today. This touchbar MacBook Pro was a 2019 model and because of this it could be immediately formatted after being stolen by the thief. I think this kind of formatting once stolen by someone can not be done in later models after 2019

So it still shows on the Apple ID devices on my iPhone13 but is missing from the devices on the find my device app. This is quite a valuable insight on the loophole of the Apple devices, once stolen can be lost in the practical world.

Then that shows that Find My is disabled by whomever (or maybe it was never turned on in the first place). So, I’d be a bit concerned here, and would change my credentials, as provided.

Further to this, after being formatted the Apple ID on the MacBook Pro can be removed or changed without needing the password of the previous one. So it still shows on the Apple ID devices on my iPhone13 but is missing from the devices on the find my device app. This is quite a valuable insight on the loophole of the Apple devices, once stolen can be lost in the practical world.

Removal of a Stollen Device from your Apple Account:

Have one, my left. Booting info Recovery Mode, macOS Catalina is when a password was required to access Recovery Mode.

You have to wait 3 months to disassociate it from your account. You have to wait 365 days to disassociate all devices from your Apple Account. So, having access to your passwords and all, they’ve removed it from your account, perhaps reformatting it, even.
