Transparent photos forced to have white background instead of transparent background

So just a few days ago I recently found out that all the images that I have saved from my phone for about 6 months that have transparent backgrounds (aka no background) now are forcefully stuck with a white background 😤😡

Before, the background would be white before pressed then black when clicked on, but now it just stays white. I know a few comments here will tell me to just hold press on the item, but that ruins the quality of the image and ruins the cropping, adding an ugly white outline around it.

Another question may be the website I use which it cannot be I tried using the app (Picsart) yesterday to see if I can save new images as transparent, and It worked perfectly fine. The background was normal, but all of my previous images are stuck with this white background. I'm really upset. I don't know whether I should update my phone to iOS 17 or whatever. Not only that, but I hate updating it because apple does dumb updates and I cannot get a new device either because I am a teenager with no job yet, please help. I'm very upset with this non-transparent thing not working..😔

please help if you have any tips.. I saw another post with the same issue this is VERY bothersome

My guess is that you are using a specific app to deal with photos, rather then the default photo app? Are you taking the photos through this app, or do you take the photo and then manipulate it with the app? If you take with the app, then you need to contact the app developer to ensure that their app is compatible with the current iOS on your device.

usually I put the image into removebg (idk if thats what its called now I think they changed their website) then put it onto picsart to touch up the image now they’re all just stuck with this white background.. but if I use the app now and put an image there and save it the pictur saves normally with the black background (how its supposed to)

Hi, I have a question. Are you able to delete this post I made, I would like to rephrase this post? I cannot, I tried multiple times today asking the same question regarding the transparent photos and every post was deleted because it obtained the same information as this post. My initial question wasn't answered here, and the issue is still occurring. I gathered screenshots as evidence for a new post about the transparent issue I've been experiencing?

I also just made a post about how to delete community posts and it also was deleted for some reason..

I’ve been in contact with picsart and apple since this post I updated my phone to IOS 17.1.2 yesterday when it was 16.1.1 originally and it messed everything else up..

I looked yesterday and there were over 2 websites and 2 apps I used for these photos

theres no way four seperate companies are going to reply to me to fix it.. I’ve already accepted that I lost 3k photos for basically no reason

Format and resolution have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Resolution is how many pixels are used to make the picture.

Format is - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_file_format

As I said before, some formats can save backgrounds as transparent, some can't. PNG, GIF, & HEIC formats are examples that can use transparent backgrounds, JPG and BMP are examples of formats that can't.

So you are probably saving it in a format that doesn't support transparancy. And drop the attitude, we are here to help but we can't help if you aren't willing to learn.
