I am planning to use dual sim on my iPhone 13 Pro, One uk sim and one Australian eSIM with the same appleid for iCloud. Currently my Australian sim is in an iPhone X with a different appleid for media and purchases as some apps are country specific. My uk 13 pro also has a different appleid for purchases from the iCloud appleid. How to I use dual sim and maintain country specific apps?

Your Apple ID can only be connected to one region or country at a time on your iPhone or other Apple devices:

You can have different phone numbers, but you may run into difficulties, using iMessage or FaceTime.

i think iMessage will be ok as I already have both numbers and the iCloud appleid entered in message settings. I guess I could enter the uk appleid under media & purchases to update the uk apps and then swap over to the Aus appleid to update those apps. Do you think that would work?

You will have to update/download all apps from the other region, before you can change the country for the Apple ID. After that you are not connected to the previous AppStore anymore.
Yes I checked the article thanks, I think the only thing that may stop me changing countries is family sharing but I guess I won’t know for sure until I try it. I’m trying explore all angles before I try it as once I transfer the sim to eSIM the physical sim is disabled and the iPhone X doesn’t support eSIM so no going back without contacting the telco.
I don’t use family sharing on the Aus appleid only on the UK one so maybe if I change the country back after updating apps it might work. Don’t think Apple thought about country specific apps when they said you could have different countries with dual sim.
Making phone calls and using two SIM cards in one iPhone is a carrier thing, Apple only provides the technical side for the carrier.
And Apple ID and Apple Services and content is also not connected to the carrier. You can use an iPhone without a SIM installed and have access to iTunes, Apple Music, AppStore, iCloud, etc.
You can not use Family Sharing between Apple IDs that are registered to different countries/regions.
