Do app developers get informed when app is installed

Do companies or individuals get informed each time a user installs their app? If so what information do they get? Apple ID?

Do the developers get informed when a user removes their app from their devices? Thanks.

No, developers get sales and performance metrics, no Apple ID, and no, respectively.

Apple provides developers a count of installs, of sales, of app reviews, and some other such, but not of app removals.

Developers can obtain user details indirectly, such as logging into an app-provided service, or revenue changes from in-app purchases or subscriptions. Users can have the option of using Hide My Email for various signups, as well.

So If I download and install an app on my iPad, use it for a while then remove it, the “install” count does not change? But if I download it again the developer gets “credit” for another install?

Apple aggregates the data.

Is that “gets ‘credit’ for another install” like internet points? 😉

As for “purchases”, there’s one of those when the app is first acquired from the app store, and there can be zero or more copies downloaded, and zero or more copies active. The “purchase” triggers some aggregated accounting for a paid app, too.

What’s the background and general issue or concern here, because some of this might mean you’re getting gaslit by somebody, or that you’re a developer and headed in a somewhat unusual direction.
