removing tags from automatically tagged photos
All of my photos now show "tag" boxes, even of unknown people. I don't want that. How do I change?

Are you asking about Photos on a Mac or on an iPhone or iPad? If you do no longer want to see the names on the faces in Photos for Mac, use the command "View > Hide Face names". This will remove the overlay with the name tags.
