The system seems to allow 4-5 minutes of inactivity before requiring the user to sign in again. I am the only user and am in a secure home environment. This feature disturbs my working process. How can the interruption be made to stop, or to occur less frequently?
Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Lock Screen and change the amount of time before the password is required.
Is there a way to have the Lock Screen settings vary by day such as Tuesdays and Thursdays it is one setting and the rest of the week it is another?
