USB-C to SD Card Reader not showing up on iMac

I just bought the Apple USB-C to SD Card Reader and plugged it into both of my iMac's and the reader does not show up on my screen. Nothing happens.

Both computers (M1 and new M3) can read my USB to USB-C adapter but no the USB-C to SD Card Reader.

I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you!

SD card reader issue, when loaded it appears for a split second and then goes away, what can i do? Hello there, I have a intel macbook pro 13-inch, 2020 and been trying to read my SD cards with a usb c to sd card reader from apple, and they only show for a split second in the disk utility and then disappears, having formatet the card on other OS's it seemed to worked fine but it refuses to work on macos. What can i do to solve it?
