How can I an remove old Apple TV from Screen Mirroring selection on my MacBook Pro?

I have a 2016 Mac book with Mac Monterey that used to have Apple TV used for mirroring. I threw out my Apple TV box as is stopped working now I cant use airplay with my Sony Bravia TV any more because the only option in the Screen mirroring tab is Apple TV box. When I click it it asks for a 4 digit code from the TV that never appears. IS there a way to remove the Apple TV BOX from my streaming display? I was told that Airplay was blocked from Macs older than 2018 which is pretty crappy of apple to do yet I hear some use. 3rd party app to do this?
