Cellular Data Usage

Since I started using my new iMac with the m3 chip my cellular data has

increased a lot . Does texting on the iMac use cellular data? If so, how do I stop it?

iPad mini 6, iPadOS 17

You can only text to non-Apple device from a Mac or iPad if the Mac is working through your iPhone. That may be why the data usage is up.

If you have your iPhone or iPad set up as a Wi-Fi hot spot – offering an Internet connection to your Mac, through your cellular data service – that could run up your cellular data usage, too.
