iPod icon not showing up when connected to iTunes

When connecting iPod nano 7 to iTunes it’s not showing next to the music box on iTunes, instead when I plug iPod in it is opening up top left file page on iTunes, then iPod opens up when I click on music folder all music shows up ,file folder recognises iPod has been connected not ideal for deleting music etc appreciate some help thank you AJ

Ipod wont sync my iPod classic fifth generation wont sync with my iTunes. i got it off of eBay and whenever i plug it in my iTunes app freezes up and i cant even close it. it will sometimes show up in file explorer if i put it into disk mode as disk and sometimes when i unplug it it comes up as a bunch of random symbols. when i turn the iPod on it works fine there is no music on it it works normally until i plug it in i have no idea what is wrong how do i sync it?

7th Gen Ipod Classic not connecting to PC or Itunes I bought a used iPod Classic 7th Gen and after finally getting it fully charged i cannot get it to connect to my PC or iTunes. I have read several Community post about downloading APPLE MOBILE DEVICE DRIVER, installing older or newer versions on iTunes, Updating device drivers, formatting the iPod. So when i connect the brand new iPod cable to my laptop you can hear it connect then a second later it disconnects. When i go to THIS PC, it does not show up as a drive. When i open iTunes, the device does not display. If i put the iPod in DISK MODE i can get it to show up as a drive in THIS PC but it still doesnt show up in iTunes. I have FORMATTED the iPod and restored it through iTunes. Once that is complete the iPod will show up as a drive in THIS PC and does display the iPod icon for me to click on but when i either click on the MUSIC tab or after its been connected to iTunes for a couple minutes, then it disconnects and goes back to it not showing up in THIS PC or iTunes. I have done a lot of research and my only two guesses left are that iTunes has a software problem with the Classic iPods or the hard drive for the iPod is corrupt. It still has all the functions working. Before i formatted, the iPod had music and videos from the previous owner and i was able to listen and scroll through it all. So i think its more of an iTunes problem. I have used all three USB ports and they all do the same. I have restarted my PC so many times, i have lost count. The next thing i am going to try is connecting it to my wife's laptop and see if it connects to it. Looking for any help!!! I'd hate for this thing not to work and go straight to the trash (recycle).
