I have subscriptions in progress, and can't renew them unless I update my debit card(the one that Apple has is expired). However, it will only let me add a completely new card, and not update the expiration date on my old one. It also won't let me delete the old card, because I have the subscriptions in progress.
Add a new valid card first then you can delete the old one.

Have you a Debit/Credit card that is issued to you that is valid internationally and is from the same Country / Region as your Apple ID.
