My iMessage is turned on but I still get the message that I have to turn on iMessage.
Does the person RECEIVING the iMessage have to have it turned on as well? What about non iPhone recipients?

Screen says to enable iMessage when sending photos/text. It is enabled. Or does that mean the person I am trying to send to needs to enable iMessage???

I found that if you long press the message (as if to delete) and copy instead of delete
