I can’t add any bank card to Apple Pay. I’ve tried the following with my card issuer and bank:

  • Updating iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, WatchOS
  • Setting the correct date, time, language, and region
  • Matching the address in the Apple account
  • Restoring iTunes and resetting my devices as new
  • Removing all cards from all devices (MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch)
  • Adding the card via the bank app on different devices
  • None of these worked, So I Ordered a new card and tried the new card with no luck.


I talked to the bank management and they said there was no problem. The card worked before in Apple Pay / Wallet in all of my devices, but not after I bought a new MacBook. Now after removing all cards from all devices, I don't have any card in the Apple Wallet/Pay.


I contacted Apple, and Apple refused to help me and blamed the card issuer and the bank.

Can anyone help me?

Unable to add a card to Apple Pay after buying a new MacBook


Hi everyone,


I have a problem with Apple Pay that I hope someone can help me with. I used to have a card in Apple Wallet/Pay that worked fine on all my devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and old MacBook). However, after I bought a new MacBook, I couldn't add the same card to Apple Pay on any device. I always get this message:


“Card Not Added, Contact your card issuer for more information.”


I have contacted my card issuer and bank, and they assured me that the card is valid and supported by Apple Pay in my country. They also suggested some possible solutions, but none of them worked. Here is what I have tried so far:


- Updating iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS

- Checking compatibility of all of my devices for Apple Pay

- Setting the correct date, time, language, and region

- Matching the address in the Apple account

- Restoring iTunes and resetting my devices as new

- Removing all cards from all devices

- Turning off and on Passcode & Touch ID

- Signing out and in of Apple ID

- Resetting only network settings

- Trying to connect to a stronger and more private/personal network, both Wi-Fi and cellular

- Reinstalling the Wallet app

- Checking Apple Services outages

- Adding the card via the bank app on different devices

- Ordering a new card and trying it


Nothing worked. I still can't add any card to Apple Pay. I contacted Apple, but they didn't help me and blamed the card issuer and the bank.


I'm really frustrated and confused. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? I appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Update:

- I removed all VPN profiles, and all DNS profiles.

- I change my language to locale language(card issuer country language).

- I tried a completely different card issuer, still the same issue.

- I tried inserting my card to another Apple ID, and IT WORKED!

- It seems that my Apple ID is the problematic, I am with Apple Support ATM.
