The best solution I’ve done and it’s worked a couple of times is once your Homepod(s) are connected wireless to your Apple TV go into the device and play something and while it’s playing connect your Ethernet cable. Go into settings and network and it should be connected to Ethernet with the speakers still playing.
Some WiFi routers needs to be configured to bridge wired Ethernet, 2.4ghz and 5ghz for it to work
