Why does birthday type out in Chinese?

Second birthday on Contacts I have contacts with a husband & wife on the same contact. Why can’t I put a second birthday on the contact? It always comes up in Chinese. It’s driving me nuts!!!

Contact birthdays: only option Chinese When trying to add a SECOND birthday to any of my contacts iPhone only gives me Chinese language. Adding a FIRST birthday not affected (English). When I touch the label option, I am offered only Chinese, Hebrew or Islamic calendars; default calendar is missing. iPhone XS, iOS 15.3.1 I’ve checked all settings associated with Contacts, Addresses & Mail & no alternate languages are enabled. I saw a thread about this from last year, but problem was not resolved.
