I purchase a MacStudio and an Apple Display. They were purchase to replace an iMac that has a squirrelly hard drive. I was wondering if it is possible to use the iMac as a second monitor. If so, how would I hook it up? Many thanks!

Best bet for dual displays, is to pick up a second Apple or an aftermarket 27" display.
If your iMac is from 2019 or later, and is running Monterey or later, you can use it as an AirPlay Receiver for AirPlay to Mac. However, that's not as good as a real connection to a real standalone monitor.
Nope sorry, no new Mac's including the Mac Studio support using an iMac in Target Display Mode.

The Luna Display dongle works well connecting the two, if the squirrels don't get in the way.
Luna display does NOT provide an accelerated display suitable for Full-Motion Video. That requires an ACTUAL display on a High-speed cable.
