How many notes can “Notes” app hold?

I’m thinking of moving over my notes from Evernote to Notes. I have over 4600. Will Notes support that many plus more that will be added?

iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 17

If the Evernote app is no longer meeting your needs, I’d migrate from Evernote to a database or to customer relationship management tool or maybe DEVONthink (Mac) or to some other alternative, and there are other alternatives in the app store, and not to Notes. Notes is very limited. If you're even using a fraction of what Evernote provides, you’re very likely using more than Notes even offers.

As for capacity, AFAIK there isn’t a particular limit. It’s however much storage you have available, as the Notes files are usually stored in iCloud.

A dedicated database built on Filemaker Pro (Mac) can be an option given the scale, depending on what you’re doing with these thousands of Notes, and depending on what features of Evernote you’re using. (Scale? You’re getting up into a scale of data where tools not meant for that scale can start to have problems. Scrolling through a display of 4600 Notes in the Notes app is going to be tedious, which probably means you’ll be depending on and using search more.)

But… Notes is built in and freely available. Try it. See if it meets your needs.
