Can I install MacOS 12 on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)

I am currently on MacOs Catalina - version 10.15.7 and would like to update to MacOs 12. When I click on the Apple in the left hand corner of the screen, followed by About this Mac, and then click on Software Update, I get the following message:

"Your system administrator has not given you access to this preferences pane."

Am I able to update to a later MacOS version?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

A mid 2014 MacBook Pro can be upgraded to the latest version of Big Sur macOS 11 but no later.

See the following from Identify your MacBook Pro model - Apple Support

You will need to see your system administrator to upgrade to macOS11.
