Screen artifacting - Hardware issue?

I've had my M2 Pro Mac mini for several months, and lately I've had some display issues.

I'm connected via a Thunderbolt to DP cable. My display is a 4 year old MSI 27inch 1440p monitor that I've never had any issues with, on Windows, Linux and a variety of consoles.

The issue: After waking my Mac up from sleep, the bottom of my display will be severely artifacted. Sometimes I'll have an area about 10%-15% of the display that is either completely black or at least dark and distorted (see picture). The only way to solve the issue is to do a full reboot. A reboot always fixes the problem. Also, the issue only emerges if my Mac has been in sleep mode for an extended period of time. If I use it every day, I never get to see this problem. If I let it sleep for two or more days, it's guaranteed to occur. The longer the Mac sleeps, the worse it gets.

The second issue I have is that, after using my Mac for several days in a row without rebooting, I eventually see very subtle horizontal lines on the display. Every other row of pixels will be slightly darker, like scanlines. Again, a reboot fixes this 100%.

I would really like to know if this is a known hardware issue. I've gone through several system updates, including the upgrade from Ventura to Sonoma, but the issues persisted.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice! I'll do that and see how the situation develops (there's still the issue with those "scanlines" that appear after using the Mac for a while. I'm anxious to see if they appear at all when I never put it to sleep)

So I guess the bottom line is, if this is a sleep issue only, I won't need to do anything in the lines of claiming warranty. Because I'd like to avoid that, if I can.
