Silent mode, no phone alerts?

When in silent mode, my phone will not alert me to any phone calls or text messages. It will show up on my watch, but not on my phone at all. I cannot figure out what settings are causing me to miss important phone calls, or text messages.

The volume is turned up and I’ve checked notifications, settings etc…

I am missing my bosses calls and my husband!

This functioned just fine until one of the2024 iOs upgrades. I am now using iOS Version 18.1.1 I have been missing important calls from family members and notices of deliveries, including delivery of a new IPad! I do not have the mute button activated, and I have turned off even my 9 pm to 7 am Sleep focus. I have even completely turned off my iPhone. It appears as if the DND is stuck "on." The crescent moon still shows next to the current time in the top left corner. The "Do Not Disturb" statement appears at the bottom of the lock screen. The ultimate irony is that sumultaneously, my Apple Watch is now allowing "Stand" notifications every hour all night long. Text tone shuts off My text tone works for short time after resetting network, shutting off and restarting phone. My phone is not on silent, I’ve checked all my settings. Works for maybe 6 or 7 texts then stops alerting me. I’ve missed MULTIPLE texts. It affects my watch as it doesn’t alert as well. I’m updated on both phone and watch. I’ve checked ALL my settings on both. Frustrating.

Iphone & Watch aren't giving alerts together I don't always have my watch on, I only bought it for the ECG, I still have 2weeks before deciding to keep it. I'm frustrated because I need to hear on both- text and call alerts, as well as my Ring Camera alerts. I need to have my phone go into lock mode after a certain time, and I need that for the watch as well. Why can't Apple allow alerts/sounds for calls, texts, Ring, when one or both devices are on alert? I'm missing very important texts, calls, Ring notifications. Thx

Sometimes I don’t wear my watch but it’s in the house and thereby connected. Hmmm. I wonder if that’s what the issue is.

It is normal for calls to only go to your watch if you wear that. You might want to check your watches notifications settings that it will still give some treble on your wrist when someone is calling you
