Reminders app badge won’t go away - iPhone 15 Pro

I’m running iOS 17.2.1 on iPhone 15 Pro.

The badge on my reminders app will not clear, even though I don’t have any reminders due. I turned off the badge notification in Settings and then restarted my phone. I turned the badge notification back on and the due reminder reappeared.

I had the same issue on my iPad Air 4 (iOS 17.2) and tried the same thing and it resolved the issue however, it is not working for my iPhone. I’ve tried deleting the reminder app and then restarting the phone and then reinstalling the app to see if that would change anything, but that also did not work. I’m at my wits end. Please help.
