downloading CDs to MacBook Air

lately when i try to add cds to my Itunes library - the screen goes black (after only 2 or 3 mins) and the download stops running until i hit the track pad, and THEN it continues the download. this has nothing to do with screen saver, etc

I do not have ANY problems adding CDs to iTunes on my Windows laptop.... any help is greatly appreciated!

CD rip error in Apple Music on MacBook Air: "required file cannot be found" I'm attempting to rip a CD to Apple Music on my MacBook Air 2020 running Monterey 12.6. I am able to rip the first file in each attempt, but as soon as it moves on to the second, I receive the same error message over and over: "Error occurred while converting the file [file name]. The required file cannot be found." After reviewing older threads here I've tried removing the Music icon and relaunching the program from the applications folder; updating permissions to "read and write" access for my Apple Music folders; changed the default location for imported music tracks to the music folder under my primary user identity; I have rebooted the computer after each of these steps. However, I continue to receive the same error message each time I try to rip a CD (I've tried multiple different CDs purchased at different times, etc.). I'd welcome any helpful suggestions. Thanks.

Unable to import music into iTunes from an external CD drive I recently updated MacOS 14.3.1 When I fist restarted, I iTunes a pop up window appeared asking something like, 'do you want to allow an external device to access media' I clicked no No I cannot import music into iTunes from an external cd drive. Error code appears 'Error occurred while converting the file 'song name'. An unknown error occurred (-54) I can do this tedious drag and drop and manually rename way of doing it. the CD player and the CD's work. How do I get back to this access request, as it seems like clicking yes would fix the problem thank you [Re-Titled by Moderator]
