Maintaining journal data between phones

Apple says that all Journal data is stored on device for privacy purposes. When it comes to changing phones will Apple be able to transfer Journal data to a new phone? Will the entries from a previous phone appear the same on a new phone?

FYI, I was able to contact Apple Support and resolve this issue. So long as your previous iPhone had Journal as “on” for iCloud Backup, Apple Support can re-synch your Journal via iCloud and push you backup to your newest iPhone. Weird that this doesn’t happen automatically with the iPhone transfer.

In my case it might have been my memory ran out from the old iPhone to new iPhone and it de-prioritized Journal data in the transfer. hope this helps. It was a frustrating situation.
