Mac sign on password locked

New device 2023 m2 air 15 inch. I’m locked out. No “?” Beside password. Can not get it into recovery mode

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 14.0

If this is a new Mac you should not be burdened with having to figure out how to log in. Besides, something is not right about an inability to boot Recovery.

Contact Apple: Official Apple Support. It seems something is wrong with that Mac.
