MacBook Pro (2021 M1) Cannot Mirror Screen to iMac (late 2017)

My MacBook Pro (2021 M1) cannot mirror screen to my iMac (late 2017) however the same iMac (late 2017) can screen share to the same MacBook Pro (2021 M1). How can I screen share from my MacBook Pro to the iMac so I can use it as a bigger screen.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.12

If, by chance, you're talking about AirPlay to Mac,

  • Your M1 MacBook Pro is recent enough to be an AirPlay Receiver.
  • Your 2017 iMac isn't. (You'd need an iMac introduced in 2019 or later.)
