Alternative to Contacts

Contacts is a poor application, but it's gotten worse with my upgrade to Sonoma 14.2.1.

I try to create a new contact and it keeps exiting the entry page for no reason whatsoever. The only way I could actually add a contact was to add one field at a time, save the contact, then add another field, then save... Absolutely worse than the terrible results I've had in the past (e.g., the following advice: "just shut the app down and restart" to get it working again).

Someone else asked this same question last year and got the response -- no there are no such alternatives; restart in safe mode, etc., etc... singularly unhelpful.

I'll be trying some of them out, starting with CardHop since I already use Fantastical, the best calendar app I've found so far. Great features and awesome support.
