Apple TV remote won't power on Hisense TV.

When pressing the remote button on the Apple TV, the Apple TV box turns on, but the Hisense smart Roku TV does not. I have to turn the Hisense TV on with its own remote control to view Apple TV.

However, the Apple TV remote does work to power off the TV. Just won't power it on.

I've unplugged everything for 60 seconds, including the HDMI cable, but the results are the same.

Any suggestions on how to turn the Hisense TV on with the Apple TV remote?

Apple TV remote won’t turn TV on Set up new Apple TV. The remote can now control the volume and turn off the TV but won’t turn it on. It turns on the Apple TV box but then I still have to use the normal LG TV remote to turn the TV on. Control TV and Receivers is on.

Apple TV remote won't control Denon power? Hi! Replacing a Verizon set top box with an Apple TV 4k. With the Verizon, the remote would turn on/off the Verizon box, LG TV, and Denon home theater receiver. Dropped the Apple TV onto the same HDMI cable and same connections, the Apple remote turns on the TV and Apple TV, but won't control the power for the Denon (it does control volume at the receiver). I checked all the Apple docs about controlling outboard devices, but no helpful info there. Anyone have any ideas?
