I need to get an "App Store" app for my used MacBook Air. I can't find a way to do that. Every answer to my question starts with "Go to the App Store." Please help

Open the launchpad and type App Store, it should come up that way.
The App Store has been a part of the Mac operating system since Mac OS X 10.6.6 (Snow Leopard). It might have been called the Mac App Store at first.
There are a few MacBook Airs so old that they shipped with a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.6.6. If you have one of them, and never upgraded to 10.6.6 or higher, that would explain the absence of the [Mac] App Store.
