iMac memory upgrade
I have a 27" iMac which has 4 slots for memory there is 2 8gb installed would it be ok to fill the 2 other slots with 16gb in each slot or do i have to stick to 2 8gb to make 24gb

Yes that will work.
Please keep in mind that Mac's are picky and it is bet to buy RAM modules directly from either OWC or Crucial.
Yes, that will work. I have two slots with 16GB DIMMS and two slots with 4GB DIMMS. Works great for me on my 2020 27" iMac.

Yes. Adding 2x 8GB to the original 2x 4GB to make 24GB installed works just fine.
For best results memory should be installed in matched pairs, but for 27" iMacs with 4 slots one pair doesn't have to match the other.
+1 to den.thed - Mac computes are sensitive to memory, and for best results, third-party memory should only be purchased from OWC or Crucial.
