Child account and Ask to Buy notiffications not received

I see that this question has been asked many times here but the answer is always a link to this page If Ask to Buy isn't working but that page does not help me.

I gave my niece a iPhone 12 mini for new year and used my iPad Air to add her as a Family member for enabling Family share and creating an account for her. I have few issues with app installation and is making using the device extra annoying.

Whenever I install something on phone from app store I need to click ask to buy, and get a message that request has been sent to guardian for approval. Nothing comes up on iPad, and I went through entire device but cand find anything.

So then I need to use approval in person and login with my AppleID and then after lots of passcode inputs I then get a verification by code from iPad and then I can install the app. And need to do that in full every single app install.

Also when i try in-app purchase, I get an message in app that its sent request for approval but then I cant approve in person and popup just closes.

Focus is not turned on, Family share and Ask to Buy are turned on. Every solution I ever tried has not worked.

I dont own a Mac or any other apple device. I am thinking of installing MacOS on virtual machine so maybe then I can have more options.

(I have to say that Family LInk on Android is far more superior than this solution which does not work and have a lot options for child device control...and they all work).

Any hint for what I could try is highly appreciated.

I kind of solved the issue. After disabling and re-enabling Ask to Buy I suddenly started to get Notifications and a review app in iMessage. It has a Review the request button but I cannot go anywhere from there. At one point after clicking it it sent me to a homepage in Appstore, but after that I was not able to do anything when clicking it:

But after after a while I located where I can approve it (its probably a location that the review button was supposed to sent me).

In settings, Family, click on child name, then on child avatar on top I get on a page with some kid info and there I could find that particular request and from there I was able to review and approve it.

If I leave that page and come back the request is not visible so I would have to do it again.

Have to say, for a company as large as Apple with products that "just works" this is insanly bordering on non-functional, and based on looking here and online I am definitely not the only one.
