MACBOOK AIR 13" TRACKPAD AND KEYBOARD BUG

Good day Apple. so I am still currently going through a very common problem where my keyboard and trackpad freeze after my MacBook Air goes to sleep or when I close the lid of my MacBook. I thought an update would have been released to fix this issue since a lot of people are facing it but the problem is still there. so if you can help us fix it that would be really helpful and it would make our day a lot easier , instead of using third party keyboard and mouse

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.6

Either you have some software installed which is running wild when waking the Mac, or you have some sort of hardware issue with the laptop. The hardware issue could be with an externally connected device, or with the laptop itself. Try disconnecting all external devices in case one of them is causing a problem.

Does an external keyboard & mouse have the same issue, or does it only affect the built-in keyboard & trackpad. If the latter, then you have a hardware issue of some sort which will need to be repaired.

To look at possible software issues, try booting into Safe Mode to see if you have the same issue waking the laptop.

Try creating a new macOS user account. Log out of your current user account, then log into the new macOS user account. Do you have the same wake from sleep issues?

  • Do NOT migrate anything to this new user account
  • Do NOT sign into any cloud based services such as AppleID, iCloud, Drop Box, Google Drive, One Drive, etc.
  • Do NOT adjust any settings from their defaults
  • Do NOT install any browser extensions or plug-ins...same goes for any other apps
