iPhone sends every call to voice messaging system

I have gone through all suggested maneuvers on iPhone and Verizon to cancel call forwarding, but all of my incoming calls continue to go to voice messaging system, rather than to live receipt.

iPhone 13, iOS 17

Had the same problem. Verizon blamed Apple. Apple blamed Verizon.

I cannot say what the "real issue" might have been, but the problem went away instantly when I switched to another carrier.

Of course, your mileage may vary.
