I'm getting tired of Finder...I spend as much time resizing columns so I can read full directory/filenames than I do getting a file of interest. It seems from community feedback that this has never been a feature to autosize to column widths to display fully. I've gone through older posts that speak of Path Finder but there's no such title in the APP store. Any suggestions for alternatives??

Hover the cursor over the edge of a column until you see the double-arrow cursor, then control or right click.
My guess is they don't want to give Apple 30% of their income, or it provides some functionality that Apple doesn't wish you to have....

Pray tell....how are you getting the options window demonstrated?? I can't find a link or touchpad function to get what you're showing??
