It sounds like you have Screen Time restrictions turned on. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Account Changes. Make sure this switch is on. If you had a passcode set up for Screen Time, then you will need to enter that before you can make that change.

Even though account changes are allowed, logoot is disabled.

Then you have a profile installed on your device that prevents you from logging out. This is common in many school or work environments.

If you just tried changing the Screen Time setting to allow Account Changes, then shut off Screen Time altogether by going to Settings > Screen Time > Turn Off Screen Time. Restart your device after you make that change.

Why can I not sign out of my iCloud?

What happens when you try, is it greyed out? There are many reasons why you will not be able to sign out, but some more information may be helpful:

  • Restrictions can prevent sign out.
  • Forgotten password will prevent sign out
  • A deleted Apple ID will prevent sign out
  • A locked Apple ID will prevent sign out
  • A managed device will prevent sign out
