Is it possible to import photos over PTP and get JPEG+RAW image as result ?

Leica M11 camera when connected over USB-C exposes it's images over PTP. Photos Mac App supports the protocol and allows importing images from the camera, however instead of importing them as combined JPEG+RAW images, it creates two images one for DNG and other for JPEG as shown below (JPEG appears B&W because of the used film simulation, it does not matter if non is used)

Inspecting both images reveal that they do have a same (file) name but different (file) extension, which as I understand what photos requires for creating combined images.

If I plug SD card into Mac instead of connecting camera through over USB, same photos appear as expected JPEG+RAW image and are imported correctly as well.

Is there any way I could get a desired behavior with a USB connection to a camera ? Having to remove battery and take out SD card is really annoying and defeats the purpose of over the wire transfer.

Thanks
