Have the lastest ipad update and my kindle app keeps crashing. It opens for a few seconds and then closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

If it only happens using that app, and if you're sure that your Kindle app is updated, try a forced restart of your iPad: put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these instructions:
If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Kindle developer/support team and ask them:--> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

There is a fix for this, you have to log into your amazon account on a browser and deregister your device from the Kindle device list, then sign back into it on your iPhone and iPad. I just did that after seeing someone suggested that in another thread on reddit and it worked!
My kindle app on both iPad and iPhone started crashing when I selected a new kindle unlimited title and it tried to start downloading. Now when I open the app it tries to download the same title and then quickly crashes, on both devices. I was able to stop the crashing by using my browser to go to my Amazon account and return the new title. Now I can use the kindle app but cannot download any new titles — so still broken, but I can read whatever I already have downloaded. Awaiting Amazon to fix their issue.
i turned off my iPad wifi as suggested by another user. Then I realized that it started crashing when I was downloading a new book. So I deleted the book and returned it to kindle unlimited (via my iPhone which wasn’t having issues). Turn on iPad Wi-Fi, opened kindle app and no crashes! Sounds like this is a bigger issue for apple but hope this work around helps for some.
As correctly announced by VichyAX (thanks for sharing that info), today Amazon has released an update (7.0.1) that should solve the problem. That update, for Kindle app, is available on the AppStore.

I think I’ve solved the problem. It doesn’t like WiFi! Was unable to raise App Store also until I turned WiFi off. Not sure what this says as WiFi is ok for everything else??? Re installed Kindle on iPhone and had to turn WiFi off to download books. Once done turned WiFi back on and all ok to read so far. Will try on my iPad next. Seems to me to be a WiFi problem with the App Store and Kindle App. Hope it fixed soon as it’s a fiddly work around.
The latest kindle version fixes the issue. Remove the kindle app. Reboot, download the latest kindle app from the app store. Relaunch the app and it should work.
I was able to get my app working again on my phone. I went into Amazon account and selected prime reading. Once there I selected explore larger catalog with kindle unlimited. Once in there I was able to manage library and return book I was attempting to read. Now I’m able to get back into kindle app without it restarting. Still scared to download something new though.
I’ve been having the same problem. Chose a book online using kindle unlimited, opened app on my iPad, chose my new book and while loading the app crashed. Tried all the various options others have listed here as well. Another poster here suggested this link to an Amazon forum. https://www.amazonforum.com/s/kindle-reading-apps I checked it out. Many have posted about the crash but the most recent posting (2mins ago) tells that an Amazon customer got through to customer service. According to the post they (Amazon customer service) is aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. They hope to have rectified the issue within the next couple hours. If not then the next 12-24 hrs. I know it’s not the best/fastest resolution or what others want to hear (like those about to get on a long flight - happy travels if you are), but Hopefully this information is helpful.
thanks to others here for all the information and suggestions.
this just in: after posting to the above I went into Amazon to the ‘manage my content and devices’. When my list of books came up I clicked on my most recent selection (the one I just got from kindle unlimited). It took me to the book buying page which had the green ‘read now’ button. I clicked on it and it opened the book in a new tab on my web browser/safari. This may not help anyone not connected to wi-fi or the internet but is another option until the app issue is resolved. Good luck all.
There is now an update in the App Store which seems to have fixed the bug, kindle and books opening and staying open for me now
For anyone who missed my post yesterday - it has been fixed, there is an update on the App Store which has fixed the bug and kindle is now working again
Apparently the app is fixed. You need to delete and reinstall now. This worked for me. Deleted app now, reinstalled and working again 😊
I had the same problem with the Kindle App crashing on my Ipad after attempting to download a new book. I found by deleting the Kindle App , turning off Ipad for 30 minutes then re installing the Kindle App solved the problem
Hope this helps.
I have the same issue on iPad and iPhone, force restart, deleting and re-installing the app has no effect it still crashes within a few seconds after starting. However, I’ve discovered that if I turn on aeroplane mode the app starts fine and works - this does suggest the problem is at Amazon’s sever end. It’s a pain, but is a temporary work-around for me to carry on using the app minus any online features (like downloading books!).
I too am having this problem across iOS devices. I turned airplane mode on and could read books already downloaded so that may be a workaround for some of you until the perm fix is in place.
