Have the lastest ipad update and my kindle app keeps crashing. It opens for a few seconds and then closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

If it only happens using that app, and if you're sure that your Kindle app is updated, try a forced restart of your iPad: put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these instructions:
If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Kindle developer/support team and ask them:--> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Try deleting and reinstalling the app
Uninstall and reinstall. Tried all other options to no avail. Library reloads as expected.
I had this same issue. I tried deleting the app, then shutting down my iPad. After restarting my iPad, I reinstalled the Kindle app, and so far it seems to be working again 🤞
There is an update in the App Store that fixes it. No need to delete, just update.
Same issue on both my iPhone & iPad. Contacted Amazon customer service, & was transferred to Kindle devices - real person not a bot. After briefly discussing the issues I was having, she ‘disappeared’ for a minute or more and then informed me that there’s a problem with Kindle & all Apple devices. Technicians in both companies are now working to sort it out & that none of the usual home fixes like restarting the phone etc would work. 24 hours was mentioned re contacting them again so no guarantees it will be fixed in that time. So looks like no Kindle reading today! Hope the info helps.
Hi! The issue has now been fixed. Delete your app and reinstall. For those that already tried this (like me), you need to do it again. When we first did it, the issue was not resolved. Hope this helps!
I have a fix. I turned off Wi-Fi and the app is no longer crashing. Not ideal, but it will serve until the app is properly fixed.
I’ve just deleted and redownload the kindle app and it’s now working
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Kindle app and it seems to be fixed. 🤞🏻
I have the same issue, reproduced on a 2018 iPad Pro running iPadOS 17.0 and an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.2.1. Both have a lot (50-100gb) of free storage.
I've restarted both devices, uninstalled the kindle app on both before installing it again and logging back in.
So yeah, it looks like it’s 100% on Amazon’s end as the crash happens during the handshake when you want to initiate a download.
Deleted and reinstalled the app and mine is now working again.
Seems to be working fine now!!! Had to delete and reinstall it again, but I think kindle finally fixed something on their end because it stopped kicking me out. Hope it’s all good for everyone else too!
It seems progress is being made correcting the error as I just deleted and reinstalled and it’s working normally now. The same action earlier today did nothing.
I put the phone in airplane mode to stop the app from crashing. After removing the download I did yesterday it started to work again online. Was able to download yesterdays purchase again after that, and now all is good.
FWIW, as of 1/4/24 9 AM EST (approximately) I (again) deleted the Kindle iPad app, downloaded the version from the app store, and now it is working for me.
Whether they updated it on the app store I don't know, because I didn't check the version numbers.
