Kindle App crashing on iPad

Have the lastest ipad update and my kindle app keeps crashing. It opens for a few seconds and then closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

If it only happens using that app, and if you're sure that your Kindle app is updated, try a forced restart of your iPad: put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these instructions:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (power) button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: In rapid sequence, press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 10-20 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear, the one with the "slider" to turn the device off included).

If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Kindle developer/support team and ask them:--> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Same issue on both my iPhone & iPad. Contacted Amazon customer service, & was transferred to Kindle devices - real person not a bot. After briefly discussing the issues I was having, she ‘disappeared’ for a minute or more and then informed me that there’s a problem with Kindle & all Apple devices. Technicians in both companies are now working to sort it out & that none of the usual home fixes like restarting the phone etc would work. 24 hours was mentioned re contacting them again so no guarantees it will be fixed in that time. So looks like no Kindle reading today! Hope the info helps.

I have the same issue, reproduced on a 2018 iPad Pro running iPadOS 17.0 and an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.2.1. Both have a lot (50-100gb) of free storage.

I've restarted both devices, uninstalled the kindle app on both before installing it again and logging back in.

So yeah, it looks like it’s 100% on Amazon’s end as the crash happens during the handshake when you want to initiate a download.
