Kindle App crashing on iPad

Have the lastest ipad update and my kindle app keeps crashing. It opens for a few seconds and then closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

If it only happens using that app, and if you're sure that your Kindle app is updated, try a forced restart of your iPad: put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these instructions:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (power) button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: In rapid sequence, press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 10-20 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear, the one with the "slider" to turn the device off included).


If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Kindle developer/support team and ask them:--> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Thank you for the suggestion and the link. I just checked this and there are many comments/questions posted about the app crashing. The most event posting - 2 mins ago - tells that an Amazon customer reached customer service about said issue, they are aware of it and working on it. They hope to have it resolved in the next couple hours, if still not working then the next 12-24. Hope this helps.

I was finishing my book an hour ago (5:19am EST Jan 3, 2024) and when I finished, I downloaded some KU books. I went to open and the app crashed. It crashed on books I own, books I have downloaded onto my iPad but haven't read, and it continues to crash despite hard restart, deleting and re-installing Kindle app, and going into airplane mode. It's definitely an Amazon kindle app issue on iOS that started this morning for all of us.

Having this issue too! Thought was my phone memory but like others say same on my iPad. But I do have a small run round? If you could call it that? If you go on the internet and access your account through that (not the app) it works! Not sure if you can download new stuff but in theory you should be able to get on Amazon then read online but I’ve always used my account on my laptop so I can sometimes read in class 😬🙄 and just checked and it seems to work!
