Kindle App crashing on iPad
Have the lastest ipad update and my kindle app keeps crashing. It opens for a few seconds and then closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

If it only happens using that app, and if you're sure that your Kindle app is updated, try a forced restart of your iPad: put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these instructions:
If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Kindle developer/support team and ask them:--> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

From another forum I found a way you can read your kindle books on the web as a temporary fix. Go to read.amazon.com (America). If in Australia add the .au. It worked in safari on both my phone and iPad.
until they fix the issues between Apple (iOS) and the kindle app I discovered I was still at least able to read books using kindle cloud reader in safari. If that helps anyone at all. :)
I found on my iPad - I shut off the WiFi - and the kindle app does not crash now - I turn it back on and it crashes - right now I realize it’s just a work around- maybe try that for now?
If you go under settings, kindle and then turn off your cellular data, you can read books that are downloaded, but that’s it. Hope this helps.
I’ve just been on the Kindle forum. Someone posted this.

I spoke with a Customer Service rep for Amazon and she said they knew about the problem and are working to get it fixed as soon as possible. She said it “should” be fixed in a few hours, if not if could take up to 12-24 hours
Most definitely the app. I’m able to access kindle on my laptop perfectly, but not on my iPhone or iPad. Hoping they get this fixed soon. I had just finished a book, and downloaded another when I started having the issue.
Just spoke with customer service they are aware of the app continuously crashing and are currently working on it they said it should be working in the next couple of hours or at max the next 12-24 hours
Although the Kindle app is not working atm, I'm so happy to have found this thread! I had just bought a book from Amazon after a break from using Kindle of about two months, and thought I had done something terribly wrong to my account! I did all the stuff too like deleting and reinstalling the app, logging out and back in at Amazon, restarting devices - I even returned the book thinking something was wrong with it - I'll re-purchase it once the app is working again :)
I think you can still read your books through Kindle on your Ipad using 'read now' button on your Amazon account for past purchases. I just checked and its working on my ipad. It's not ideal but maybe those travelling can use that until the app is fixed?
I hope it doesn't take too long to fix!
I’ve completely deleted the app for the time being as am just reading my Kindle books in the web browser. If you don’t have the app downloaded and click ‘read now’ on the book you want it just opens it in Safari. Not ideal but better than nothing!
I find that if I put my device in airplane mode I can read on my Kindle app if the book is already downloaded. I also have been able to read while not in airplane mode if I use the Amazon feature - if you have a book owned or checked out with Kindle Unlimited and click on “READ NOW” icon it opens in read.amazon.com.
I agree this is very frustrating. You can still read your Kindle books at read.amazon.com - I’ve been doing that since yesterday. Hope that helps for all those you still wanting to get back to your books.
January 6 update seems to have fixed the issue. I did nothing but wait for an update. I experienced Kindle on my iPad crashing after a book purchase made on the 3rd. Reading streak still active as I used read.amazon.com while waiting for the fix.
Started tonight, across all iOS devices. No amount of uninstalling and reinstalling has helped.
I tried this but it is still crashing.
It will require an update from Apple and/or Amazon to fix this. Same issue is being posted on the Amazon community forums
You can read the book on a browser. See here for instructions: https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D56Q0000CjIWtZSQW/app-crashing-you-can-still-read-your-books
