Kindle App crashing on iPad
Have the lastest ipad update and my kindle app keeps crashing. It opens for a few seconds and then closes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

If it only happens using that app, and if you're sure that your Kindle app is updated, try a forced restart of your iPad: put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these instructions:

You can read your book on your account online at read.amazon.com
Uninstall the book and reinstall. Fixed the issue for me
Seems that the problem is ongoing and occurring broadly.
in the meantime you can read your books via the web reader. https://read.amazon.com/landing
Check other replies for workarounds. I logged into Amazon cloud and an able to read my kindle books. Open different browser {I used Safari} enter read.amazon.com.
It’s happening to me too. Reading is still possible though. You can read your ebooks straight from the Amazon website, rather than through the Kindle app—and that still works.
It’s happening to me as well. Before and after I updated my iOS. It was fine earlier today, but it is suddenly having a problem after purchasing some new books. I deleted the app several times and reinstalled it, but as soon as I start downloading a book it crashes and continues to do so every time I open it. But it looks like that the problem is apple app version only as I can read on my android phone. Hoping the problem is fixed soon so that I can read it on a bigger screen though.
My Kindle App on my iPad also keeps crashing. It's been two days now and nothing has helped. It didn't start until I updated the iPad with the new software release. And - to add insult to injury - it's ruined my daily reading streak :(
Same issues for me, worked fine up until around 9am on the 3rd jan. Still crashing this morning on the 4th so doesn’t appear to have been resolved. Doing what other helpful people have suggested and reading by signing into Amazon kindle through web browser for now…
I just tried to open the same book in chrome on the same ipad and it too will not open even in the browser. I went back to my iphone which hasn't been updated yet and it opens in the Kindle app just fine. So at least we know our books are still there and tied to our accounts.
With so many of us having the same issue, AND none of the “usual” fixes working, AND it being unique to the Kindle app and no others, it’s an Amazon issue. We can only hope they release a fix soon!
Hi all, I got on to Amazon Customer Services and they said that there’s a problem with the Kindle app affecting a lot of people, which they’re working on to resolve the problem.
Mine, too. I found that if I put it in airplane mode it doesn’t crash, so definitely something to do with Wi-Fi. Course it’s impossible to download a book.

This has just started happening to me (10am). Was reading a book all morning, just finished it and was looking at other recommended books when it started closing it every few seconds. Tried restarting, checked for updates, even deleted and reinstalled.
i saw something that said its fine in airplane mode, it was but hadnt downloaded the book, now its download it still crashes in airplane mode. So annoying
Same issue. Kindle just closing, I’ve deleted. Re downloaded. And even force restarted phone. Changed nothing.
so searched for updates and just found another iOS update so in the process of doing that hoping it fixes the issue.
