Scam!
My friend received a call from his CEO. By the time my friend answered his phone call on watsapp, the call got disconnected. Within few seconds my friend received a text message on watsapp from his CEO. He was asked to purchase 10 apple gift cards worth 5000Rs each. My friend purchased the apple gift card and sent the code to his CEO. The Gift vouchers were not redeemed, and the CEO has not seen the message. Later we realized it was a scam and we deleted the coupons sent on watsapp. The messages were not read.
The purchase was made via Paytm. We were looking to get a refund but didn't find a way-out. So, I went ahead and redeemed the gift voucher.
My friend and myself have outstanding balance of 5000 Rs and 45000 Rs respectively in our Apple account.
Please let me know if I can get a refund. Else please let me know if there is a provision to utilize the money to buy apple products. I have iphone SE 3rd gen, planning to upgrade it. Please help me!
