I started using new Sim-card, put it in and wanted to change my phone number in Apple ID profile. Changed it, but now it says "Unavailable for iMessage and Facetime" right under the phone number. Because of this I can't get verification codes plzhelp

SIMcard itslef is perfectly fine (I already reached my carriere support). I can get messages to my phone from local numbers, but verification codes for WhatsApp, TikTok and etc. can only be recieved through iMessage option. Now I am just stuck inbetween the numbers, which makes my business very complicated. If I tap the info icon near my number in Apple ID profile, it says "This phone number cannot be used by iMessage and FaceTime. You must have a SIM associated with an Apple device for +XXXXXXXXX(phone number) to be used for iMessage and FaceTime. It would mean a world to me if somebody could provide me with a proper solution. I have already tried many methods like restarting a phone, turning the function on and off and etc.

Wondering if you use an email-address or your phone number as your Apple ID in your country or region.

You may just need to add the new phone number to Messages and FaceTime ?


Eg: If you are still signed in using to the apps using older details, you may need to first sign out of both the apps. Then, you may need to Restart your iPhone - Apple Support (removes temporary files, updates changes, and often restores order if something is not working right.)


Then try signing in with your current Apple ID and password.
