edit: Figured it out, please disregard.
Running Windows 11 with iTunes, and connecting an iPhone 13. iTunes and phone are both updated (12.7 for iTunes and 17.2.1 on phone). I have about 20 tones I downloaded from Zedge ages ago that are on my phone, but for some reason they aren't available as options when I want to change my ringtone or alert tones. I transferred them to my computer to make sure they're in AAC/mp4 format and they are, and all are under 40 seconds. I can find them in iTunes, but when I connect my phone to my computer and try to drag/drop or c/p them from my windows folder to the Tones section in iTunes, a red circle with a line through it appears and it doesn't move the file. I have tried not running iTunes as administrator, I already have it set under my username in windows with full access, and the files all have an artist/album listed so all the reasons I've read so far that could be preventing me from moving them are covered and fixed. Yet I still can't move the files to the tones section and when I look in apple music on my iphone I have no options to make them my ringtones/alert tones. What am I doing wrong? Or can I no longer use custom tones and have to start paying apple for them? All help appreciated.
