Bought contracted iPhone 15 pro max from someone

I bought a sealed pack iPhone 15 pro max from someone who bought this on contract without buying receipt is it safe ? The phone is fully unlocked and work like as a new one should

Buying Used Iphone 15 I am looking to purchase a second hand Iphone 15 Pro Max. I've checked the IMEI and everything appears good. Not blacklisted, phone is unlocked, no sim lock. Checked the Verizon trade in page and phone is not on a payment plan. Seller says phone is paid off. Is there anything I need to check? If phone is completely erased and I am able to log in with my apple id, do I need to worry that seller can still report the phone lost or stolen or am I good to buy the device?

New IPhone has expired warranty I bought iPhone 11 Pro yesterday but found that limited warranty expired. When checked using serial number, it says purchased in April 2020 yet the phone was sealed and sold as brand new. Is this something possible or the dealer faked me with a second hand iPhone by selling it as brand new?
